Wallabies

Andrew Walker
Nowra born Walker played seven tests for the Wallabies in 200-2001. By age 16 he had already played for Illawarra and NSW Country.
Shoals knew he was a prodigious talent when on first grade debut he scored 20 points against Campbelltown. Whilst his later career saw him play at fullback or wing, he was an outstanding number 10 for Shoals, with a supberb kicking game and an incredible goal kicker.
After beginning with Shoals, Walker moved to Randwick where he played in their 1991 premiership winning team. He made his Wallaby debut against the All-Blacks in July 2000, becoming Australia's 40th dual international and the first indigenous player to achieve the feat.
Walkers played for the new Super rugby team ACT Brumbies in 2000-2003 and then the Queensland Reds from 2007-08.
Walker played one season with French team Gaillac in 2006.

Alex Kanaar
Kanaar was a junior with the Shoals, but never made a senior appearance for the club. He played lock/flanker for the NSW Waratahs and one solitary game for the Wallabies before a chronic knee injury ended his career. He made 26 appearances for the Waratahs between 2005 and 2008.
Alex was capped for the Wallabies in 2005 against the All-Blacks at Eden Park.

Chris Coulthart
The Australia Deaf Rugby team was founded in 2001 with a series of matches against New Zealand and featured Shoals Chris Coulthart.
Coulthart was again selected the following year for matches against New Zealand, one match being played as the curtain raiser to a Bledisloe test. He also represented against South Africa, Scotland and Italy.
One proud moment for Coulthart was the match against Italy in 1994 that was played at home in the Shoalhaven.
Coulthart played "able bodied" rugby for Illawarra and NSW Country for many seasons .
A proud Shoalhaven boy, he played 249 first grade games for the Shoals and 332 games in all for the Club.
